When I saw Joe Handley’s recent post about the global impact A3 is poised to have, something stirred in me.

Because what I see happening through A3 is not theoretical. It is not branding. It is not institutional expansion. It is something we’ve been living on the ground for years.

"Can you show me the A3 teaching manual?"

People often ask those of us in A3 what we specifically teach in our program.

I was intrigued by the passion behind the words of Pastor Dilesh Kumar: “This is the best program I have ever participated in."

I enjoyed seeing A3/Bangladesh class 2 leaders wrestle with Byron MacDonald's teaching...

I asked the leader of A3 in a restricted-access country, “What attracted you to A3?"

"I was like a tree without roots and on the verge of burning out..."

I praise and thank the Lord for A3. It's just been so uplifting… it's recharging for us pastors...

Ideree the Bird Man is more famous worldwide for his bird photography than for his pastoring a church or working with the leadership team of A3...

Charya’s bones were crooked, he was missing an eye, he could barely walk. He was spiritually convicted during the A3 session as they talked about the apostle Paul being chief among sinners.

Is Bigger Better?

The thinking that you must grow big to make a difference has crept in the church. I have heard several times of evangelical leaders urging pastors to level up so as to grow big churches to transform the nation. Where is this perspective coming from?

When I look at the challenges facing the church today, I am convinced that the future of leadership does not rest on structures or strategies alone. Here in Jakarta, Indonesia, we've just finished up a session with the A3 cohort. It's our second session, and I just wanted to share about how wonderful it was to just be with all these pastors—men and women of different ages, different levels of experience, but what a great community they're building.

This group of graduating pastors inspired me! I spent a week with them in South Asia listening to their stories, hearing their heart...

When I was first invited for A3, I was quite reluctant because I had just finished my MTh (Master of Theology), and I didn't want to go through another course, so to speak. But then I was reassured that it's not a course of lots of reading, but it's something different. So I said, “Okay, fine. If that's what it is, I probably would join in.”
