Women in Ministry Launches in Nepal!
Recently the long-awaited Nepal cohort for A3’s Women in Ministry (WIM) has finally launched. There has been so much excitement and anticipation for this launch. The women in the cohort were so thankful to have WIM start! They worshiped and laughed and cried together — and experienced many inner healings.
I was privileged to co-lead the weekend with Dr. Junia Pokrifka. Dr. Pokrifka is a former Old Testament professor from California, US. She brought unique gifts of both biblical teaching and powerful intercession. The Lord used Junia powerfully.
Nepal is a beautiful country boasting of its Himalayan Mountains but steeped in spiritual darkness. The Nepalese core is a vibrant group of ladies from Nepalese Children's Educational Fund (NCEF), Movement Day, a woman minister and another woman from the church led by A3’s national director. One remarked:
“WIM is indeed what Nepal needs the most!”
A couple of WIM participants already want to take this to other parts of the country. Such responses only reiterate the dire need for such ministry as WIM, where the objective is to identify, equip and release women leaders to become better leaders and deeper followers of Christ.
Our launch weekend was laced with teachings of the Image of God and practical exercises in Spiritual Disciplines such as Silence and Solitude, Celebration, Meditation and Lectio Divina. The Holy Spirit’s inner work was evident as countenances were lifted and burdens were surrendered.
One participant revealed:
“In the small group, I was able to share things I never shared with anyone in my life.”
This new community of leaders and learners will continue to grow together and strengthen the church in Nepal. All praise to the Lord for the good work He has begun there.

JACKIE RO, former director of Women in Ministry with A3, continues to serve with WIM where she ministers to women leaders in Cambodia, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and the Chinese world. She has been a missionary with OMF International since 2001. She also served with the Lausanne Movement (Prayer for EAsia) and Arise Asia. Jackie is a graduate of Gordon Cornwell Theological Seminary (MDiv) in Boston, US. She has four children and currently resides in Bangkok with husband David and son Alex.
