WILL YOU JOIN US?
The last few weeks I traveled throughout the Muslim world. And, as this picture of the Hagia Sophia reminds, the call to prayer goes out 5 times per day. Every time I’m in that part of the world, I have vivid memories of living in Istanbul and traveling throughout the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia as well as Bangladesh and Indonesia. I even heard the call to prayer while in India last week as well.
Pray for God's disciple-making movements
On this trip, my own prayers were kindled afresh for what God is doing in this part of the world today. I met with some of the world’s most effective disciple-making movement leaders who are doing incredible work. One has nearly 6,500 leaders in their network. The other is working across more than 60 countries where Muslim’s live in significant numbers.
Pray for movement leaders
As A3 looks to help these movement leaders, I ask you to pray for us. They are seeing people come to Christ in vast numbers and it’s exciting but their concern echoes much of what I hear across Asia: we need Christ-like leaders. Unfortunately, for most of them, the groups they have reached out to have not been that helpful because they haven’t adapted to the local cultural contexts, or they just use a cookie cutter approach to training.
Pray that A3 can effectively come alongside these leaders
These leaders seem thrilled with the prospect of working with A3 because we adapt to every country that we enter. We work with the local leaders to re-design and re-tool what we have at our disposal to help them best equip the movement of our Lord in their nations.
Let's unite in prayer for the Muslim world
So, I’m issuing a different call to prayer today. Would you join me in praying for the Muslim world?
Pray that the Lord’s favor is on us as we lean more and more into these regions to best equip leaders for the fast-growing churches and churches to be (underground, house church, and disciple-making movements).
God is doing a special work in these lands and your prayer would be most appreciated!
