This past week was an encouraging one for me as we spent time exploring the idea of launching our Women in Ministry training in Cambodia. It came on the heels of seeing our largest group of women ever in a graduating class – around 7 of the members in Bangladesh were women.
Everywhere I go, the need to empower and equip women is overwhelming. That’s why A3 is spending more time and energy investing in women. Nearly 30% of most of our cohorts in 16 countries include women but that pales in comparison to the need. Thus, our special Women in Ministry cohorts are growing: they started in East Asia, now work in India and Cambodia will be next with several on the horizon in the near future, I would surmise.
Meng Aun Hour, national director of A3/Cambodia told me, “80% of the Church members in Cambodia are Women.” Thus, he implied this program is vital.
Pray for us that we can raise the necessary funds to keep this ministry thriving and to see it grow. If you feel led to help, we’d love to talk to you about serving in either a behind the scenes role or as faculty. And, we do need funding. Part of our current $167,000 matching grant can be applied to this venture as well so if the Lord stirs your heart, please do help us raise the funds.
