Since joining A3 in January of this year, I've been able to attend leader development sessions in a few countries, as well as meet members within the A3 community. One particular highlight for me was A3's Global Leaders Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
A3 GLOBAL LEADERS SUMMIT
Let me share some reflections...
Belonging.
That’s the first word that stands out to me after attending the recent A3 Summit in Malaysia. As the new U.S. President, I walked into the large meeting room filled with tables the first day knowing almost no one, but by the end of our time together I found myself scanning the tables, looking at leaders who were no longer strangers, but friends and co-workers.
We worshiped together, dug into the Word together, and learned together about leadership transition, spiritual rhythms, humble curiosity, and a growth mindset. Several times we stopped and prayed over one another. Leaders from across South Asia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Africa, and the MENA region prayed scripture and spoke words of life over each other.
Impact.
Over meals, walks, afternoon coffees, and table times, I had the privilege of hearing individual stories. What led them to join A3. The life and leadership transformation that had taken place as a result of the community, connections, and content they had gathered from A3. Men, women, and young professionals who were all transformed not just personally, but also initiated a ripple effect that runs deep and wide throughout their countries, denominations, and circles of influence in their ministries and businesses.
At one point my husband Brad and I sat across the breakfast table from two key leaders from Bangladesh and listened intently as they shared about their digital outreach to Muslims, their involvement in helping to free children from trafficking, and their intense love for Jesus which persecution seemed to only strengthen. I felt like we were on holy ground.
After the Summit Brad and I flew to Bangladesh. We rode on dusty rickshaws to visit a school for children where the principal works tirelessly to keep the young girls in school. Being a mom of four girls, I encouraged him to keep up the important work he and the teachers are doing! We saw small business and vocational training, learned of scripture translation projects, and were overwhelmed by the impact our leaders and their teams are having.
Unreached Peoples.
Not only are they helping to meet people’s physical needs, but they have a laser focus on the unreached peoples around them. As a movement, we focus on seeing our leaders grow in Christlike character, deepen their love relationship with Jesus, multiple themselves, and accelerate movements. Bangladesh was a thrilling opportunity to hear how strategically our leaders are focused on seeing the gospel spread to those who currently have the least access.
International Day of Prayer for the Unreached » A Third of Us
On Pentecost Sunday, the global church will unite to remember the billions with little to no access to the gospel. Each of us has the opportunity to join believers around the globe in unified prayer for the unreached. As we approach the International Day of Prayer for the Unreached this Sunday, May 24th, I encourage you to join a prayer meeting online, gather your friends for a prayer time together after church, or use your Sunday dinner as a chance to learn more about the Unreached People Groups remaining. Jesus is worthy to receive praise from every tribe, tongue, and nation!

JANELLE STOOPS has been serving as A3's U.S. President since January 2026. Janelle graduated with honors from UCLA with a B.A. in communication studies before studying Bible for a year at Talbot Seminary. At 23 she moved to Kazakhstan as part of a church-planting team. There she met her husband, and after marrying and having two kids, they moved sight unseen to Uzbekistan where they saw a church planted. Since returning to the U.S., Janelle has served in a variety of roles with Frontiers, including as the Director of Strategy Coordination for the International Office as well as Co-Director of the U.S. Sending Base. She has an M.A. in organizational leadership and serves on the board of Cafe 1040.
