About once a month or so I posted a quick note on social media offering to pray for my friends. It’s surprising to see how many respond. I simply say something like, “I’m praying for you… Please share your requests.”
Most of the time, I’ll have anywhere from one to five people respond with a special request on one of my sites (twitter, facebook, tumblr, linkedin, google+, foursquare, etc.). While many times the response may be something like, “I’m taking a test today” or “I’ve been feeling ill for awhile” coupled with “please pray for me,” there are several times where the request turns into a dialogue… and at times, a conversation about faith, hope, and love.
While I originally intended these touch points to simply be a way to stay connected with friends, let them know I care, and take their needs before God, little did I know that God would turn these into conversations about His hope. Several times, people have had multiple days of discussion about my faith, why I believe in Christ, and what a difference prayer can make in our lives.

Let your social network know that you care and offer to pray. |
Our world is full of need and every day there are many who need some special, personal touch. It is in these moments of genuine touch that some have been drawn closer to the source of hope in life. Who knows where these seeds of prayer may lead, but I’ve been surprised at how much more they mean to my friends than simply just a way to stay connected and to let people know I care.
Give it try. Let your social network know that you care and offer to pray. Let God take the conversation from there and see what happens!
Let me know how it goes:
