LittleEngineThatCould

When I first interviewed with A3 over six years ago, I told the board, “This is one of the best kept secrets in mission today.” Why? Because I was in cross-cultural mission leadership for more than 20 years and had no idea of the impact of the mission.

A3 2014 Mid-Year ReportThis summer when our Mid-Year Report went out, we had several similar responses: “Joe, I had no idea the impact of A3. Thank you for sending the mid-year report!” I just shared this news with our board in Japan last month saying that we are like The Little Engine That Could. Do you remember hearing that story as a kid? I do! No one thought the little engine could make it but he kept saying, “I think I can. I think I can.” and sure enough, he made it. He was the hero!

Not long ago, one of my colleagues, Elliott Snuggs, when introducing himself at Cape Town 2010 was told, “You work for A3. That must be a huge mission!” Elliott corrected them saying, “Actually we are quite small.” But the impact of leaders who leverage their life for a cause is powerful.

You can see more here and learn about how dozens, hundreds and perhaps a few thousand volunteer leaders are making an impact: Mid-Year Report or download your own copy here.

How do you leverage your influence in life? With God, we all can have that Little Engine That Could story!
