Rahul Rao, A3 alumnus from Mumbai, shares why he joined A3
At the recent A3 alumni gathering in India, I asked folks why they initially joined our leader development program. When I heard Rahul Rao's response, I just had to record him and share it with you.
Hi, my name is Rahul Rao. I'm from Mumbai, India.
So it was in 2018. I had completed around 10 years of ministry, pastoring a church, being involved in training. And a friend of mine, a pastor friend of mine, invited me—recommended that I be a part of a training that's called "Asian Access" [now A3].
And he said, "This is going to be a two-year course with eight modules."
Yet I had attended so many sessions, training sessions and training programs, events, and camps that I said...
"No, I don't want to get into another one. And, two years is out of the question. That's a lot of commitment."
But he coaxed me. He persuaded me. And what really touched me was his story. He said,
"Rahul, it is life-transforming. Every pastor needs to go through it."
And so, because it came from such high recommendation, I said, "Okay, let me give it a shot. If it doesn't work out, I'll pull out from it."
And long story short, our training duration was four-and-a-half-years thanks to the pandemic! But there was absolutely no regret.
I graduated last year, and A3 has been an amazing program. It has transformed my relationship with God. It has blessed our family. And the learnings and the teachings have blessed my ministry, my church. And I'm so grateful to God for what has been taught, and what I've learned through A3. The friends that I have made, the stories, the life-transforming stories that we've heard—and I would recommend it wholeheartedly.
There you go. I'm wearing the shirt and I advocate it. I feel it's something like the gospel. When you taste the gospel, you know how wonderful it is. And for me, A3 has been something that has deeply ministered to me, especially my relationship with God. So if you are considering it, I would recommend it wholeheartedly.
I love A3 alumni. It is always so encouraging to hear these kinds of testimonials from the ones who know our program the best—our alumni. Soon I can't wait to share with you what Rahul and others have been doing to reproduce the A3 training for others—because they have personally been blessed by it.
